The 19 Project

Introduction to The 19 Project

I am on a mission to help you become a leader worth following.

And I am convinced that it starts with you leading yourself well. After all, the toughest person you will ever have to lead is you.

I was 19 when I was given my first leadership opportunity. A couple in the Church I was part of while at University in Sheffield asked me to lead the youth group.

They say something in me I didn't see in myself.

I asked them once about why they picked me. After all, others had known them and the young people longer. Their answer,

"We saw in you the potential to lead from behind. This was important, as too many leader lead out of their own need to be seen, rather than a need to give."

Like I said, they definitely saw something in me that I didn't see in myself. There is no way at 19 that I would have described myself like that.

They had a belief in me and my ability to lead

I believe in you and your ability to lead

Someone else's belief in you and your potential can get you started. It's important – but it's not enough. The next thing you need is some belief in yourself.

Belief in yourself as a leader.

This is possibly where many of us stumble. Somewhere along the way, we may have made becoming a leader worth following more complicated than it needs to be.

I'm here to change this. Let's learn together and cut through the noise as we explore how to believe we can lead, how to lead ourselves well and how to become a leader worth following.
